Flipped Learning

Flipped Learning

Flipped learning has been around for a while, and it is a fantastic way for MLs to explore topics, acquire vocabulary, and build background knowledge at their own pace before coming to class. The savvy teacher can then spend more class time on interaction and discussion -- and less time watching videos, reading articles, or listening to podcasts during precious classroom moments.

When sharing flipped instructional materials with multilingual students, be sure to show them how to access supports in videos and podcasts. Additionally, share articles at different Lexile levels, add add supports like images, or use a tool like Rewordify to adjust the text.
