Choice Board Makeover

Choice boards are a fantastic option for encouraging choice and agency in the classroom. But, what about incorporating some intentional scaffolding into choice boards for multilingual learners?

The choice board on the left provides choice, but there is no intentional scaffolding. With the choice board on the right, MLs build background knowledge, learn essential vocabulary, select their desired form of input & output, and reflect on their learning in a sequential order - all while maintaining choice.
