The Vault is an inter-faction reward and equipment system, used to better balance the rewards and equipment amongst the ranks, so that no-one in the Chromeskulls is overly equipped compared to the intended setting of Wintertide.
[LR] "Skulls" are allowed access to TWO VAULT ITEMS equal to their rank. Any more need to be rewarded.
[SR] "Spines" and [MR] "Jaws" are allowed to UP TO THREE VAULT ITEMS.
[HR] "Eyes" and above are allowed access to ALL FOUR VAULT ITEM SLOTS.
All staff members are allowed up to TWO RANK-EQUIVALENT VAULT ITEMS regardless of rank. E.G, I could have up to two [HR+] items, and one [MR+] vault item and another [SR+] or [LR+] vault item.
If an item is reward only, that means it must be rewarded by a rank above it, and is free-use for the ranks above it.
E.G, An item is [SR+], REWARD ONLY. This means for an SR or lower to use the item, it must be rewarded to them. An MR can freely use the item without it being rewarded.
Simple items are just that; simple and rudimentary. These are the most readily available and are almost all free use for LR+. They're low in quality but serve a unique function nonetheless, proving useful despite their cheap construction.
Improved items standout from the simple as being higher in quality but also more rare, usually only reserved for the higher ranks of the gang. With few exceptions, items in this tier will need to be rewarded to be used.
Superior items step up the quality once more, being built to last and with powerful functions. They are all rank locked or usable only by certain roles and provide a powerful bonus. They're rare and exclusive, making them hard to get your hands on.
Experimental items have powerful but untested functionality, often providing a powerful boon at a debilitating cost. These are all locked to a rank and are highly sought after by the braver members willing to risk their own sanity for a shiny new toy.
