Drones and their upgrades can only be purchased by Flyboys, utilizing the drone system outlined in the Flyboy guide.
You start with 1 drone slot using any base of your choice, and can purchase more slots through the RELISTORE, up to 3 total.
Upgrades can only be bought once, except for the MOUNTED ZAPPER "BIRDEATER" which can be bought twice.
When it comes to hacks, drones function the same as droids and can be targeted with all the same hacks.
ALl drones are RESTRICTED TO FLYBOYS ONLY.
A standard flying drone, capable of zooming through the air at incredible speeds. They’re the most lightweight, versatile, and common type of drone, but they’re less suited for all forms of upgrades due to needing to be lightweight enough to fly.
Buzzards are often best used for scouting in and out of combat, thanks to their high speed and mobility. However, that’s not to say they haven’t been utilized in direct action. Bladed weapons and claws to drop bombs and other objects are the most common attachments for combative Buzzards, able to take full advantage of their mobility and speed.
[+] Lightweight, able to be carried.
[+] Faster than all other drones, great for scouting.
[+] Versatile, usable in many scenarios.
[+] Hard to hit (+1 to dodging in D20.)
[-] Low Carry Weight.
[-] Low durability, exceedingly fragile. Can be shot down in about 1 or 2 hits.
[-] Short battery life.
[-] Difficulty adopting upgrades due to low carry weight.
The Mule is a medium-size grounded drone, using a variety of movement tools to traverse ground. At base, they can be outfitted with wheels or treads. They’re suited for travelling long distances, with a much longer battery life than most drones and a more durable build able to withstand the elements.
Mules are most often used to transport supplies, as the name would imply. Their use in combat is limited, but they can prove incredibly useful as walking resupplies and ammo-carriers, keeping friendly forces in the fight for longer. Some flyboys sporting a Mule may work in conjunction with a Hustler, transporting their many goods across the city and even the Isles as a whole.
[+] Able to traverse rough and uneven terrain.
[+] Utilizes a small fusion battery, allowing for increased battery life, especially when performing minimal physical activity.
[+] High carry weight, able to transport lots of supplies.
[+] High resistance, on-par with a human.
[-] Performs poorly when engaging in direct combat.
[-] Very slow, especially compared to most drones. It is incapable of running. (-1 to dodging in D20.)
[-] Vulnerable to taking damage, a lower speed and larger frame makes hitting it trivial.
Not particularly fast, stealthy, nor durable, but prized for its ability to go almost anywhere. Its upper body is similar to other designs such as the buzzard, however, with fully articulate legs. These legs allow it to run and jump with the freedom of a real boy, assisted by bursts of rotor propulsion. This allows it to make exceptionally fast leaps to get around.
It's legs are also waterproof and feature wide, clawed feet. The rest of its body is partially waterproofed, letting it stay underwater above a depth of 33 feet before the pressure breaches the seal. These features allow it to tread mud, water, and difficult terrain. It's thin legs and light weight make it highly unbalanced, able to be toppled over quite easily, and even sometimes falling over when running.
[+] Able to traverse a huge variety of terrain with ease.
[+] Movement assisted through top-mounted rotors similar to those of an aerial drone.
[+] Versatile in a number of situations.
[-] Jack of all trades, master of none.
[-] Low durability, legs are able to be disabled with minimal effort.
[-] Movement is somewhat clumsy and hard to control, jumping especially. Jumping can sometimes cause the drone to tumble and fail to land on it's feet.
[-] Poorly stabilized, making it prone to tripping and falling all over the place, as well as being able to easily be pushed over.
The PUKEKO cannot jump if it exceeds 75% carry weight.
