"Off-the-Shelf" is an inter-faction reward and equipment system that coincides with The Vault, offering an array of unique items that are separate from prosthetics.
The max OTS items carryable by all ranks is 2, and LR 'Skulls' can have 1 rank-equivalent item by default, with the 2nd item being earned as a reward. MR+ 'Jaws' and above can have 1 rank-equivalent item and an extra below-rank item. Reward only items can only be rewarded and freely used by ranks above it.

Riot armor, scraps of cheap plastic, and soft, low quality metals culminate in each set of GRITPLATE. The cheap construction is practically useless against firearms, but proves useful against melee weapons and low powered laser pistols. GRITPLATE is available to most members, but only Bulwarks are entrusted to wear a full set.
[+] Does not take up an Off-the-Shelf slot.
[+] Provides protection from melee and most laser pistols.
[-] Extremely fragile, instantly shatters upon being shot.
The preferred toolkit of the aspiring thief, utilizing magnets attached to a glove to pull in metallic objects from afar. The glove itself is quite bulky, having a large amount of gadgets tacked on to allow control of the magnetism by opening and closing your hand. Despite the usefulness of such a tool, horrific reports involving magnetic weapons have surfaced... Perhaps it would be best to heed these rumors?
[+] Attracts objects primarily made of metal when the palm is open.
[-] Cannot be worn over a prosthetic hand with a vault item.
[-] Firing magnet weapons (Gauss, rail, coil, etc.) will pull the glove through the barrel violently, degloving your hand in both ways!
A home-grown modification to the ever-popular First Aid Bio-Foam, stopping bleeding faster at an extremely grave price. The Bio-Foam is modified to have an extremely volatile reaction when exposed to oxygen, causing the foam to briefly become blisteringly hot. The extremely high temperature effectively cauterizes the wound, acting as an extremely effective method to stopping bleeding.
[+] Provides a large adrenaline boost that might just be enough to allow for an escape.
[+] Cauterizes touching flesh about 5 seconds after application, effectively stopping the wound from continued bleeding.
[-] Wounds have a high chance of becoming infected.
[-] Hurts like hell, nerves become fried and the pain is so unbearable that the affected limb becomes unusable for the remainder of the host.
A hot-wiring kit that allows easy and fast hot-wiring of just about any standard vehicle, often seen as a skeleton key of sorts by Greasers. The HELL KEY is primarily used to easily steal cars from unsuspecting wastelanders. A common tactic used by opportunistic Greasers is to offer gullible slabs a vehicle repair service, only for the Greaser to slip away with their new ride.
[+] Allows easy hot-wiring in 2-3 actions.
[-] Not usable with more complex vehicles like Half-Tracks, helicopters, and large boats
A HOLO-MASK connected to a PDA or ARD, allowing it to display a hologram visor that acts as an ARD. The hologram display is remarkably low quality, scavenged from the remnants of fallen patrols and scraps of tech left lying in the wastes. A certain amount of frustration is associated with the device due to this shoddy construction, with the display often flickering, warping, freezing on a single screen, or sometimes even experiencing a forced shut-down suddenly.
[+] Small hologram ARD, providing useful information.
[-] Poorly made and exceedingly fragile, will almost always be destroyed when dropped.
[-] Hologram occasionally flickers and briefly warps, sometimes obscuring vision.
[-] Rolling a 1 for any action will cause the hologram to freeze completely, requiring 1 action to turn it off and another to turn it back on for it to function again.
IEPDs are small handheld devices that cause a variety of effects to disrupt electronics in a small radius, like a digital grenade.
The BRIGHT-BULB IEPD is a small orb-shaped device that creates blinding lights, which optical sensors found in droids and eye prosthetics are particularly vulnerable to. Anyone caught within 12 feet of the IEPD upon detonation become blinded for 2 turnsor 30 OOC seconds outside of combat. Has similar effects to a flashbang, with slightly less effectiveness on natural eyeballs.
The SLUG-MAKER IEPD is a cylindrical device that attempts to disrupt electrical frequencies, causing nearby devices to operate significantly slower. Any prosthetics or droid caught within 8 feet of the IEPD upon detonation are unable to swing melee weapons fast enough to cause harm or sprint for 3 turns or 45 OOC seconds outside of combat. It has no effect on organic limbs.
The HAY-WIRE IEPD is a pyramid shaped device that can have a copper hack loaded onto it, requiring 1 action to do so. Any devices, prosthetics, or droids caught within 6 feet of the IEPD upon detonation are afflicted by the loaded hack.
[+] Does not take up an Off-the-Shelf slot.
[+] Each IEPD has powerful disrupting effects, able to quickly change the tide of a fight.
[-] Most have a small effect radius.
[-] Opponent rolling above a 10 causes the effect of the IEPD to fail.
[-] Taking an IEPD replaces 2 hack slots each.
Modified Dragon's Breath shells designed to work with vault items that use shotgun shells, creating a devastating incendiary weapon. The shells use a Chemic made compound that has a volatile reaction with air, creating molten particles that ignite flammable materials upon contact. The projectiles within the shells are comprised of softer materials that allow for better ignition but reduce penetration.
[+] Can carry alongside standard shells.
[+] Allows shotgun vault items to fire incendiary rounds, igniting flammable materials.
[-] Can only carry 6 per host before having to use standard shells.
[-] Reduces the penetration of the item by 1 level.
A small SPL1 plastic or metal buckler comprised of several smaller pieces that fold out in a circular array. When folded up, it appears as a small piece of plastic across the forearm. The SAWTOOTH is attached to the forearm by a magnetic wrist brace, which connects to a fingerless glove. When the palm is open, the shield is folded up and rests along the forearm, when the palm is closed into a fist the shield folds back open, the individual segments swinging outward in a circular motion from the origin point.
[+] Easily transportable when folded up.
[+] Can have metal blades attached to the ends of each segment.
[+] Can be flung like a frisbee with good timing by disengaging the magnet.
[+] Provides a small SPL1 buckler attached to the forearm.
[-] Metal bits on the end of segments can easily cut you.
[-] Blunt forces can easily shatter the plastic segments, breaking the shield entirely in just a few swings.
[-] The shield can be knocked off the magnetic holder when successfully blocking with a roll under or equal to 5.
Allows control of a drone with just the move of your hand, letting you effortlessly steer them. It's most utilized with BUZZARD drones as it pairs quite effortlessly, and the flying allows it to be controlled easier than most other drones when utilizing it. The lack of any screen means you need to have direct line of sight with your drone to see what it's doing. Some have turned their drones into steerable flying weapons through this simple remote...
[+] Combos nicely with the BUZZARD and other flying drones.
[+] Drone can be controlled with your hand.
[-] Takes a lot of practice to use effectively.
[-] No screen means you cannot see what your drone is doing if it goes out of your line of sight, and effectively reduces the drones range.
[-] Combat actions made with the drone have a -2 roll penalty when further away from you than chat bubble range.
[-] Shooting actions with the drone have a -5 roll penalty.
A rugged and heavy set of armor crafted out of higher quality materials scavenged from the wasteland, capable of ballistic protection. The scarcity of the armors materials makes the chance that it falls into the hands of Skulls a rarity, but not an impossibility.
[+] Does not take up an Off-the-Shelf slot.
[+] Provides ballistic protection from pistol and rifle rounds.
[-] Extremely loud when moving, which becomes amplified the more pieces you wear.
[-] Difficult to replace, becomes lost upon being destroyed if it was rewarded.
