A wretched group of individuals who have managed to incur the unfettered hate of the Chromeskulls- the Fallenband are a penal force typically associated with the Pariahs.
From Chromeskull deserters to RELISTAR POWs, the Fallenband are a diverse group of scum who are bound together by struggle. They are monitored by Boosters, who lend them leftover scraps of gear when they are sent out on missions, however they seldom return. When the Chromeskulls don't want unnecessary casualties, they call upon the Fallenband.
The Fallenband, due to their nature as a hardcore survival-roleplay role, are perpetually APTC outside of hosts. During any slotted hosts they are RTK.
RTK in this scenario means that Fallenband characters have to do a permanent kill rather than a server kill in those events.
Fallenbanders are GREATLY ENCOURAGED to log their possessions and rewards on their character sheet as an HSRP role.
We will not be actively monitoring your items (outside of the ones logged publicly on the spreadsheet), however the true Fallenband experience is typically hardcore SRP. You are encouraged to use what you find or steal, and are trusted not to asspull kit.
Fallenband can slot for XR+ roles within hosts, along with any fallenband slots that may be open. Fallenband are expected to ask the hoster what gear they are to be issued, and what quality it will be.
They are not allowed to timeskip any injuries, instead any injuries that take longer than one OOC week to heal will heal after one OOC week, while those that take less than a week will heal at that rate. It is up to the person roleplaying the Fallenband to determine the extent of their wounds, but those found out to be abusing the system will be moderated and will likely have their character killed off.
All, if not most fallenbanders are typically miserable people who are living through their worst nightmare. They are poor, hungry, and mistreated, and you are expected to Roleplay them as such. It’s okay for your Fallenbander to have an ego, but keep it realistic, and remember their position within the Chromeskulls. If staff determines that your fallenbander is behaving unrealistically, action may be taken to change the behavior.
When forced into their prisoner-like conditions fallenbanders will have to cling to the few things they do have, obsessively. They develop a scarcity complex, and from this complex forms a sort of niche caste system based purely on respect. Fallenbanders from different tribes often have far more trouble getting along.
Fallenbanders are often manipulated by their superiors, who offer chances of freedom should they complete tasks for them. Eventually, this practice became so common that some Jaws began to "adopt" Fallenbanders to personally work for them, like a sponsorship. Rarely, some Jaws follow through on their promise, and allow them to become thugs again- and rarely- legitimate Chromeskulls.
This Sponsorship system has its flaws, however. Due to their low-class nature, infighting is rampant among Fallenbanders; and internalized violence is a common sight. Many of those who sponsor a Fallenband use them as pawns, pitting them against another sponsor's Fallenbander in a sort of Proxy war to push their agenda. These rival sponsorships can grow quite large, with gangs of higher ups banding together to create teams of fallenbanders to fight one another. It’s also rather common to see Sponsors intentionally sabotage their fallenband, that way they may never receive their freedom.
Any staff member that is MR+ can choose to Sponsor a fallenband for whatever reason they deem fit.
The Sponsor typically delegates menial tasks such as fetching resources, drug or gun running, or fighting other fallenbanders to push their agenda.
Fallenbanders may only be sponsored by one person at a time, however special exceptions can be made if they are a rather notable individual ICly.
Not all Sponsors have to promise their fallenband redemption- some may just promise more rations, better quality of life, or literally anything else that may be appealing.
The Rustline Exchange is an underground market used between Fallenbanders to fence illicit goods, such as stolen weaponry, drugs, or other items that are considered Fallenband contraband. The Rustline Exchange is not a tangible place, but more so an idea; the concept of an internal Fallenband trade that's conducted illegally.
Those caught with contraband are punished, with anything ranging from a slap on the wrist to Ludditement, or even death in the worst cases. Rarely, bolder Fallenbanders may open a physical market in which they will sell their goods to other banders. These quickly set up shoddy markets are referred to as "Lines" amongst the Fallenband, and people who are caught organizing them are punished severely. Despite the risk, Lines are still often set up due to their organizers' chance to expand their influence, make money, or see a bit of humanity in their perilous situation.
In the event a member of the Fallenband has proved useful and worthy of promotion, higher ranked members may mark them for redemption. This act is rarely spoken of and even more rarely actually carried out. Most who see this fate are battle-hardened warriors, lost souls who've found grace in the Skulls, or extremely, extremely lucky.
Those who are redeemed, whether it be for their ideology, usefulness, or fortune, often face a large amount of dissension from their former fellow 'banders. After all, being plucked into better graces of the higher-ups is quite an act of betrayal.
Even after redemption, there's a mile-high ladder ahead- so you better get climbing.
In the exceptionally rare case your character is lifted into greater circumstances, it's best to know how they got there. Listed below are a few examples of what could and couldn't earn your freedom.
[+] Ideological shifts to align with the gang.
[+] Above-the-bar performance in RTK hosts.
[+] Repeated examples of usefulness to the gang.
[+] Multiple vouches from staff confirming your efforts.
[-] Constant troublemaking and hatred aimed at the Skulls.
[-] Blatant disobedience of orders.
[-] Lack of effort to aid or benefit the gang in any capacity.
[-] The act in which you were Fallenbanded for being so bad that you physically cannot be redeemed, no matter the circumstances.
