The Brubaker Covered Bridge is located on Brubaker Road and crosses Sam's Run Creek with 90 feet. Sam's Run is a small creek with an average bed width of about 50 feet.
The Brubaker Bridge is one of the seven remaining Child's truss covered bridges in the United States. Of the six Child's truss covered bridges in Preble County, this is one of three that has an open center panel. The other three have a kingpost center panel. The Brubaker Bridge is distinctive because the uper two-thirds of the sides of the bridge have been removed to allow visual access for traffic and exposes the Child's truss.
The Brubaker Bridge was built in 1887. The bridge has fresh, white-painted exterior siding. The floor has lengthwise runners interfaced on crosswise floor planking. The bridge site has easy access to Sam's Run Creek. The location of the bridge lends itself to attractive photography.
The Brubaker Bridge is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The structure of the bridge has been restored with extensive "U" steel to support the floor beams.
