The Moscow Covered Bridge was elevated from its abutments and pier by a massive F3 tornado on June 3, 2008 and dropped into the Flatrock River. After much consideration, it was determined that with some of the original wood and new timbers, the engineers were able to resurrect the Moscow Covered Bridge. The original Bridge was constructed in 1886 by well-known bridge builder, E. L Kennedy. It was rebuilt in 2010 by Dan Collom & Sons.
The Moscow Covered Bridge is 345-feet in length spanning the Flatrock River with one pier. The truss is a multiple kingpost with two sets of double Burr arches over each of the two spans. The Bridge is open to traffic and is a beautiful site to see from the side road at the river as well a the spectacular interior. Thank you Indiana for rebuilding Moscow Covered Bridge.
