The Norris Ford Bridge spans Big Flat Rock River in the northeast section of Rush County, Indiana.
The 169-foot Bridge was constructed by the Kennedy Family builders in 1916. The single-span structure has a horizontal, white, lap-siding and a tin roof. There are widows on either side of the bridge which has easy access to view the Big Flat Rock River. The truss is a kingpost with Burr arches. Today, 2021, the floor has lengthwise planks.
Norris Ford Bridge is open to traffic and is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. Rush County maintains their covered bridge well and I am sure that Norris Ford Covered Bridge is next on their list.
