South Denmark Road Covered Bridge spans Mill Creek with 100 feet. It was built in 1890 with a Town latice truss. Years ago, it was called the Williams Corner Covered Bridge, after some local residents. It is rumored that this Bridge was rebuilt from a bridge that was washed away at the same location. The original bridge is thought to have been built in 1863. The timbers that were able to be reused in the original bridge were included in the 1890 construction.
The Bridge has a shingled roof and painted, wood siding. South Denmark Road Covered Bridge has two small windows on both sides of the Bridge exposing the lattice truss. The floor has two wooden runners attached to horizontal floor planking. The Town lattice truss and chords have some additional steel and wood contruction added. The County Engineer's Deparment bypassed the Bridge in 1975 in order to preserve it. (Covered Bridges Today 1989 by Brenda Krekeler)
