Taranaki Region

The story here is ... Taranaki the volcano once lived in the centre of the North Island with his brother volcanoes Ruapehu, Tongariro and Ngauruhoe, and also the lovely (female) Pihanga. Unfortunately Taranaki and Tongariro fought over Pihanga, and ultimately Taranaki was sent off to live on his own in west. Nowadays, Taranaki dominates the landscape here and creates an amazing geography.
