Today is a great day in the history of CMWA, the day we get together to celebrate its Silver Jubilee.

Silver Jubilee of CMWA signifies the completion of 25 years of its existence. It is just not an event, but is a special milestone. A milestone denotes a significant stage or event in the development of something. In case of our Association too, it’s not just about its existence for 25 years, but, also about its continuous development.

When we talk of associations, there are many. But, Is there a differentiator that makes CMWA special? Yes..! There is one..! It is the development of unity among the members that binds them as a family. When we recollect the nostalgic memories of the 25 long years, we definitely have enough justification to feel proud of ourselves..!

When we are talking of people of diverse culture, personality and individual attributes, finding something in common, that binds them and helps them to relate with one another with ease is essential. Important and essential as it may be, it is also as difficult to find such a common thread among many. We, at CMWA, have found that one thread that links all of us. It is the love and respect for one another. When you come to know that such an environment of mutual love and respect has been a hall-mark of this association from the day it has been founded, you hardly feel surprised at its exalted current state!

In the context of present days, where people wanting to Operate alone rather than Co-Operate with others, finding an association like CMWA may be a tough task. Each and every member of the association feeling enthused and proud to be part of the whole rather than wanting to be of his own is the hallmark of CMWA. It is indeed the secret of its success and Glory..!

We at CMWA believe in “Love all Serve all “ – a sacred dictum that encompasses our principle of equality. Let’s take a moment at this august occasion to reinforce our belief and commitment in this principle and march towards the golden jubilee..!

It is also our privilege to release today a set songs on our association to depict its quintessence theme Viz. Unity.

Long live our UNITY .. Long live CMWA .. Long Live India..!

The association’s Silver Jubilee concluded with a truly glittering celebration made memorable by getting together of its members to present various cultural events.

This page recounts the nostalgic event through some pictures and videos.

Let's first , take a moment to recognize the effort of the office bearers of the CMWA in organizing such a grand event. The whole program resonated with the grandeur of a wedding reception. Mr. L.Sundararaman , president of the association ,who took personal interest and put-in planned effort in organizing each component of the whole function needs to be fondly remembered when we talk of this function. All the arrangements like the grand wedding hall, delicious food..etc were coordinated personally by him. He deserves a big thanks and kudos.

Thank you Mr Sundararaman...!

CMWA had a reputation of conducting night-long cultural events. But it was the case long ago. With years passing by and many of our children growing, this event has not been getting many entries of late. But, this being Silver Jubilee celebration , there was one soul that did not want to leave any stone unturned. It’s because of the untiring effort of Mrs Vidhya Ramaswamy, We could witness many events well organized today.

Let’s take a minute to thank Mrs Vidhya Ramaswamy who has shown unbridled enthusiasm in coordinating the cultural events part of the get together on behalf of CMWA. Many do not know the fact that she & her housband Mr Ramaswamy had to cope up with a personal bereavement while carrying out numerous activities of the event.

Kudos… & thanks Vidya Ramaswamy..!

Thanks to all office bearers , Members & those who helped us running this great organization in a blemish-less glorious manner as it is functioning now..!

The function commenced with a melodious prayer song by Anjana Rajesh & lighting of Kuthu vilakku by President Mr L.Sundararaman and other office bearers.

Let's re-live the entire function..!

Sriram Gana Mazhai

Sriram never passes an invitation to perform at our annual event. In fact, he doesn’t wait for one. With his usual enthusiasm , he orchestrated a beautiful musical program for the evening.

Performance of Children

Several children showed their talent in the form of musical rendition and dancing..It was a truly grand show by the godly innocent children that was enjoyed by all.

Kannan discovers his talent.

Mr.H.Kannan of Pugazhendhi street never shows his talents and so it is no wonder that many others do not know about them. But he himself discovers one of his hidden talent , when he recorded a CMWA song for the occasion along with Smt. Padmavathi ravindran.

Musical fete by our CMWA மகளிர்

Buoyed by the overwhelming response from friends who listened to them singing in front of dignitaries on the occasion of Silver Jubliee prize distribution , the CMWA மகளிர் is giving yet another scintillating musical show..!

It is also to be noted here that Mrs Susila Raghavan , who always participates and contributes in every such event , has master-minded the idea of using National flag’s tri-color in the costume of singers. On stage, they not only represented the great Bharath , they also were continuously reminding us of our country’s Glory..

வில்லுப் பாட்டு

Talent of Smt. Jayashree Kannan and Nirmala is not unknown to us. They always come up with something unique and innovative for every cultural event in the shortest of notice. Each of them can wear different hats with consummate ease. This time they wear the hat of Villup paattu Singer.

Kai Kotti Kali

is a typical dance form of Kerala. This is a female group dance made up of simple yet very attractive steps. In ancient times, women use to perform this dance in their homes during festivals and functions. A group of women dressed in typical Kerala style with mundu and neriyathu and the hair bun adorned with jasmine garlands perform this dance during festival seasons.. Kaikottikkali spreads the message of joy.

View here our ladies performing one such dance beautifully..

Special song for the occasion by Smt. Padmavathy Ravindran

The happiness doubled when we know that one of our members Mr. Ravindran of ashtalakshmi st. celebrated 60th birth day on this very same day. Since he was at a temple to celebrate his Sashtiabdha Poorthy (60th), he and his family could not be personally present for the Silver Jubilee celebration. But , Smt. Padmavathy Ravindran made their presence felt , in spite of being absent on that day, by her scintillating voice. She recorded a song for the ocassion well ahead and handed it over to the organizer for it to be played at the occasion. Truly a remarkable gesture.. thanks Mrs. Padmavathy. Our best wishes to the couple for a happy life..
