" Chitlapakkam Muthulakshmi nagar Welfare Association has combined the 23rd Annual day,24thAnnual sports prize distribution and Merit award 2013 and conducted as Mupperum (three) vizha on 15-2-2014 at Muthulakshmi nagar. The association president Sri.L.Sundararaman presided over the function in the presence of Sri.V.L.Narasimhan and Sri.V.Ramajeyam vice presidents. Hon’ble minister for Animal husbandary Sri.T.K.M.Chinnaiya and Sri.C.Rajendran Member of parliament South Chennai have sent greetings on the occasion. Sri.V.Venkataraman,secretary in his welcome address thanked the elected representatives for introduction of small bus via chitlapakkam but at the same time insisted that an exclusive small bus is required for chitlapakkam. He also requested implementation of drainage in chitlapakkam, release of palar drinking water connections to the houses since it is more than a decade that Chitlapakkam town panchayat has provided the same.
Sri.N.C.Krishnan,Chairman St.Thomas mount panchayat union in his Chief guest address assured that all efforts will be taken for bringing drainage system in chitlapakkam, sembarambakkam lake water coming upto pallavaram will be brought to chitlapakkam to provide house connections because the water table in palar in less. He informed much to the delight of the audience that a new small bus for chitlapakkam is in the offing. He appreciated the efforts of the association office bearers in taking up the issues of public interest and doing service actively. Sri.R.Mohan president chitlapakkam town panchayat participated in the function and Sri.R.Karunamurthy,7th ward member highlighted the works done in the ward and assured to improve the nagar further.
CITY UNION BANK chitlapakkam branch sponsored the 24th annual sports prizes andSri.Kalyanasundaram Asst.Manager participated and explained about various schemes of the bank and gave away the prizes. This year also Sri.R.Ravindran joint Secretary Vivekananda Education trust sponsored the merit award and on his behalf his brother Sri. V.R.Balasubramanian gave away the merit award.
The merit award winners are:
10th STD: 1.Yagnyanarayanan. 12th STD (CBSE): 1. S.Gosakan. 2. C.Hemamalini 12thSTD (STATE board): 1.R.Haripriya. 2. K.Balaji.
A colourful cultural programmes like music ,drama ,bharathanatyam and dance were presented by the wards of the members, magalir mandram and the events are compered by R.M.Easwaran andS.Venkatesan. In the function the officials from EB Nehru nagar and Chitlapakkam police station were honoured with mementoes. Large number of members and nearby association office bearers participated.Sri.C.S.Venkatesh Treasurer proposed vote of thanks "

**** It was a marvelous occasion when the talent of many that was latent in them was un-earthed. Unfortunately we lost a good number of videos owing to some technical failures.
One of the SD cards got corrupted.

However, we are glad that we did not loose any of the photos of children and their performances. All have been uploaded (see photos above).

Thanks to Mr L.Sundararaman who shared a couple of videos that he shot in his camera of performances of Easwaran. They can be viewed below.This playlist , below ,contains two videos of performances of Mr Easwaran including the skit of Mr. Sriram.
Kudos to Easwaran and Jayashree. Their skit performance was almost ex-tempore. The skillfully written skit was authored by Sriram (uco bank), whom, many of us did not know as an efficient drama artist till that minute. We understand that he did many performances in the much famed Poornam Viswanathan's troup. Kudos to him as well..
