Annual Day - Get-together 3-Mar-2013

Post date: Mar 6, 2013 3:51:10 PM

Get-together at our association – is just not an event of getting together in a place-But a process of dissolving differences and emerging as a single entity-where individuals, their -credentials, Name, Fame, Position – all merge together into one – CMWA.

This would have been evident, had you been present on 3rd Mar Evening... If not re-live it here and now..!

The event also comprised of Annual day celebrations, Prize distribution for Annual Sports event winners and Merit award winners.

Honourable Minister of Animal husbandry Sri. T.K.M. Chinnayya was the chief guest , while Sri.C.Rajendran MP was the special guest of honour of the occasion.

Sri.R.Ravindran, joint secretary Vivekananda education trust , is also our association member. He is the sponsor of the merit awards and was present to distribute the awards to High School toppers.

Sri Pandian , a distinguished member of our association, the founder of S.V.V Trust , also the sponsor of the annual sports day prizes this year, graced the occasion with his presence and distributed prizes to the children. It was also brought to the notice of all present by one of the speakers that Sri Pandian through S.V.V. Trust has donated Rs 10/ Lakhs to the Lake restoration and beautification fund. A noble and laudable gesture indeed..!. It is tough to find such a person-a true social activist, these days when people try and gain undue personal edge and publicity at every possible opportunity. No wonder he is called “Manitha Neya Pandian”, We are happy, thankful and proud to have such a true Samaritan reside at our Nagar.

Koothu - Street dance or street play performed in the village squares in olden days (dates back to Sangam period) ,may be of informal dance structure-But is intended to educate people on religion and history, more than just an entertainment. We hardly have any opportunity to witness one such program live these days. Thanks to our Magalir to have enacted such a beautiful dance program, a bold and beautiful attempt..!

Apart from playing the lead role with Nirmala Ravi, this program was also conceived by Jayashree Kannan. Well Supported by Malliga Krishnaswamy,Susila Raghavan,Sakunthala Kannan,Chitra Sundaram & Parimala.

Drama – Magalir Manram

Our Magalir mandram members also gave a ‘drama’tic performance ‘Kathaiyalla Nijam’. This drama bases its story on the improvement activities undertaken by the association. While the moolakkathai of this interesting play is by Sri.L.Sundraraman, the Screen play and direction is done by Mrs. Susila Raghavan.

Mimicry – an act or an art? There is a thin line between these two. Sridharan (UCO Bank) of our association has turned the act of mimicry into an art that day. See for yourself. Wonderful & Quality entertainment..! Will sure linger in our memory for long. He brought back MGR,Asokan and TS. Balaiyaa on stage. Anyone who talks to him cannot see such a talented versatility hidden behind the soft & polite voice.

SPB of CMWA..Yet again – there is no cultural event without someone singing or playing music.. But there is none in CMWA without our SPB singing…Yes… SPB of CMWA - Easwaran enthralled us all with his melodious voice. This time,it was taken to the next level-thanks to Varalakshmi d/o C.S.Venkatesh who arranged for Karaoke for the songs apart from herself singing solo and along..!. We are hoping to see many such performances from her sweet voice in the future events. Congratulations and all the best Varalakshmi.

The Young and the Younger- On every get-together or an association event , these youngsters do not fail to impress and entertain us with their mellifluous voice and tunes.

The ‘young ones’ (above) are the source of inspiration for the younger ones (below)..!
