It is to be noted that , though some of them may be new to their current roles, they have been associated with the organization in some capacity or other many, many times -for a long time -to be of service to CMWA - Silently..!

Let's Congratulate, on behalf of CMWA ,the new team and wish them all the best...!

The outgoing office bearers deserve commendation for their stupendous service during the past tenure...! Special mention about the secretary & the treasurer. The role of secretary deserves a special mention as it is connected with intense and active action. As all of us know, It is the secretary who is responsible for carrying out the decisions taken by the EC , a demanding and activity oriented role indeed.

Mr. Venkataraman has carried it out admirably sacrificing his personal comfort and devoting time to the association activities.

Thanks a lot Venkat for your great service..! Venkataraman continues to be of service to the association as a joint secretary to provide a helping hand to the Secretary..!

Book-keeping is another thankless job, and Mr.C.S.Venkatesh has been doing it silently for the past 12 years. His impeccable accounting skills have enabled the association to have financial facts and figures on finger tips.. thanks Venkatesh for setting a strong foundation and a robust accounting system in CMWA..!

As we are approaching our Silver Jubilee, it is only appropriate that we remind ourselves of our responsibilities once again. Let's pause for a couple of minutes to refresh our memory of the guiding principles of the association- given below for easy reference..

The 10 principles below reflect our beliefs about the role of its service to the Society and the impact that we want this association to have. The principles guide what we do, why we do it, and how we do it.

While many of them are fundamental to the way we operate, we will remain open to amending them as we grow and learn more about our activities.

#1. Interests and passions of the resident members drive the association.

#2. Treat each of the members equally.

#3. Treat each other as valued colleagues.

#4. Use collective strength to address common problems of our members.

#5. Advocate—vigorously but responsibly—in our areas of focus.

#6. Set rules for our association just to guide us to operate meaningfully

and not to rule others.

#7. Be humble and mindful in actions and words.

#8. Delivering results with the resources that have been given is of utmost

importance—and seek and share information about those results.

#9. Demand ethical behaviour of ourselves.

#10. Leave room for growth and change.

While it is an arduous journey to reach the stage that we are in today..It will be more so, to sustain it in the shape that it has been envisioned to be at by the founders of the CMWA.. Not only, do we have to work as a team forgetting the differences and the craving for personal recognitions, We need to also forget "Me" and think of "We"..as we have been functioning in CMWA so far..!

I also want to share a short story that I received a couple of days back on my mobile that reinforces this..!

Father is flying a kite. His son is watching him carefully.

After some time son says "Dad. Because of the string the kite is not able to go any further higher."

Hearing this, the father smiles and breaks the string.

The kite goes higher after breaking of the thread and then shortly after that it comes and falls on the ground.

The child is very dejected and sad.

The father sits next to him and calmly explains

"Son, in life we reach a certain level of prosperity and then we feel that there are certain things in our life that are not letting us grow any further like Home, Family, Culture Friendship etc.

We feel we want to be free from those strings which we believe are stopping us from going higher.

But, remember son. Going higher is easier than staying at the higher level.

And friends, family and culture etc are the things that will help us stay stable at the high heights that we have achieved.

If we try to break away from those strings our condition will be similar to the kite."

Moral : "Never go away from culture, family, friends and relationships as they help keep you stable while you are flying high."

Life is Beautiful

Let's usher-in the New year with the bliss of having entered Silver Jubilee of CMWA..!

We have a reason to be proud of..!

Happy 2015 to all..!
