24th Annual day, Get-together & Culturals 15-Mar-2015

The 24th Year Cultural function of CMWA was celebrated on 15th Mar 2015 per details above.

This annual day get-together is something special as it also is a function to usher-in the 25th year of CMWA’s existence.

While the Chief-Guest, Honble Minister Thiru T.K.M. Chinnaiah mentioned that CMWA has a special place in his heart and that he was very eager and glad to be participating as the Chief-Guest of this prestigious event,

Thiru Sa.Rajendran Ex MP lauded the functioning of the association saying that he has hardly seen any other association lasting 25 years and quoted that the co-operation and involvement of many of its members, whose faces, he said he is seeing year on year from day 1, who are rendering service un-mindful of any position or title, in return, is the primary reason for its existence in its current grandeur…! These words from his heart, speaks volume of the work that all the members of the association have been carrying out over the past 25 long years..! We are sure; they will continue with their great service in a similar manner and take CMWA to its 100th year of existence..!

Given this background, what else can be a better way to commence our 25th year than singing its praise? Smt. SusilaRaghavan , thoughtfully , has done the same. Here is the song she wrote and read out during the 25th year தொடக்க விழா.

முத்துலட்சுமி நகர் பொதுநல சங்கத்தின் வெள்ளி விழா நமது இல்ல விழா என்று கூறி இந்த கவிதையைப் படைக்கிறார்.

வெள்ளி விழா விளையாட்டு ஜோதி:

வெள்ளி விழா ஜோதி-ஒன்று வீதி-உலா வந்தது

விளையாட்டு ஜோதி-அது வீதி-உலா வந்தது

தேசியக் கொடி-அசையத் தேன்-மதுரப் பாடலுடன்

பேண்டு வாத்தியம் முழங்க வீதி-வீதி யாய் வந்தது

ஆடவரும் பெண்டிரும் அதனை ஏந்திச் சென்றனர்

There were several wonderful performances..like Bharatha naatyam,Dance drama,Music…by members and their children.

Magalir Mandram enacted a dance drama நமக்கு நாமே , which I understand was conceived by Jayashree Kannan and rehearsed in less than half a day.. Kudos to Jayashree Kannan & her team...! Every one played their part perfectly..

The Bharatha Naatyam "மதுரை அரசாளும் மீனாக்ஷி" was performed by Sisters Neha & Nitha Sathish of Muthulakshmi St. in the presence of the chief guest and was very well appreciated by him and others.

You will do well not to miss our nagar's SPB.. Sorry PBS .. sorry both-in-one Easwaran..!

Sriram never disappoints us.. He conducted a music program on Key board that was both soothing and excellent..!

There was also a talk on health , giving a few useful tips , by Dr. Vandhitha Mohan...a dentist now.. is D/O our member Mohan of Adv. Janakiraman Street. She recounted fondly the memories of her cultural performance in the same stage as a kid way back 15+ years ago.. She also said that she is a trained dancer now... and gives professional performances.. Congrats Vandhitha..on behalf of CMWA .We Look forward to your dance performance in the 25th year celebrations..!

Well.. there were numerous tit-bits and excellent performances in between , to recount and list them is quite impossible.. But , you can re-live them again through these photos and Videos that are just a click away..

Oh..Wait Wait..! How could we forget the efficient compering of Vibha D/O C.S.Venkatesh.. She could not sing her favorite numbers as she had a bad throat.. But she more than compensated for it by engaging the audience with a number of interesting Quiz questions..

( I didn't know answer to many (any would be more appropriate) of of those GK questions is another matter altogether.. I am glad I could hide behind the camera.. But there were many that had sufficient IQ to answer many of those questions...!)
