Referral Procedures:
The referral procedure can be initiated by anyone in the school who is concerned about any of the students in the school (e.g. regarding pregnancy, relationship issues, inappropriate sexual behavior or comments in the classroom, sexual orientation or gender issues, as well as risky behavior) in my mailbox is sufficient to refer a student. All information that is exchanged is confidential with the exception of suicidal or homicidal behavior and a pregnancy. In this case of Pregnancy, the information must be relayed to the nurse, the Child Care Center Staff and Ms. Tukeva.
If Coordinator is not available, and there is a pressing emergency in regards to the student’s reproductive health, please contact the nurse or one of the Social Workers. If they are not available, you can contact the nearby clinics that have youth services (Mary’s Center for Maternal and Child Care and Cardozo Community Clinic).
Reminder: maintaining the student’s Confidentiality is our most important task to make sure he/she feels safe to share their difficulties to us and seeking our services during challenging times
