Lesson planning is integral to good instruction. Not only does it guide the day’s lesson, but lesson plans over time, when reflected upon and analyzed, can help refine and guide curriculum design and revision. Organized lesson planning also allows for consistent instruction when there is a substitute, and it is necessary if Special Education Teachers are to provide support and accommodations to teachers. All teachers are expected to prepare daily lesson plans, and to keep them in an organized fashion, either electronically, or in a notebook. They should be available for review upon request by an administrator. The template below, as well as the template on page 12 of the Resource Section of your Teaching and Learning Framework, are the suggested templates to be used. You may use either of these, or one of your own design, however, it must contain all elements of the Teaching and Learning Framework).
