Coyotes are prone to carry rabies; do not try to approach or touch.
-obvious blood or wounds
-unable to walk
-injuries to legs
-signs of rabies
-other general signs of injury and illness
If the coyote has been attacked by an animal, looks injured near a road, or shows any of the signs of injury and illness, contact a wildlife rehabilitator.
Signs that a coyote is orphaned: Coyotes will be very protective of their babies. If a baby is seen without their parents, allow time for the parents to take care of the baby. If the baby becomes weak, shows any sign of injury or illness, or the parents are clearly dead, contact a wildlife rehabilitator.
