The municipal coat of arms is represented by a bipartite heraldic shield depicting on the right a tower symbolizing the possession of a territory and on the left a thistle plant, coat of arms of the noble Cardona family to which the two Petralie were sold. The Cardo (or artichoke) indicates the characteristic plant that grows spontaneously among the rocks.
