90 million and 90,000 years into the future
Sirocco has moved a lot since he was born. At the moment, at least 2000 km. It's a very long distance, especially for a four years old animal like him.
No member of his species have managed to goes as far as Sirocco; however, across his journey, he didn't see much except ice. Reefsurfers were the only animals that interrupted this white hell. While feeding, occasional ottofoxes showed up, in order to steal part of his food. Sirocco was always able to defend his kill however, and no ottofox was able to reach his carrion until he was full and drowsy.
Ottofoxes interact in a strange way with Sirocco. They feel unsecure but still very curious, often stalking him at safe distance, with no intention of attacking. They don't know how to interact with him, like he was the first time they see something like Sirocco. That's normal, since no terrestrial vertebrates have ever reached these territories, except banchisaraptors and several species of seabirds.
At one point of its journey, Sirocco reached a coastal mountainous area. He overcame it with no problems, but along the way he met another new animal. It was a wandering pinpiercer, which often roost in these rocky areas during summer. If they see predators, these birds usually respond with an aggressive behaviour, attacking the animal and disturbing it with long screeches. If in the presence of a herbivore, these birds act passively when not hungry. In the presence of Sirocco, however, this pinpiercer also acts strangely: it doesn't attack or ignore him, but it twirls around with a curious attitude. It can't recognize Sirocco in any animal it has seen in its life.
But who's Sirocco? Well, Sirocco is an explorer, a pioneer. In other words, an alien. Not from another planet, just from another continent. The first of his kind that was able to reach Antarctica again, after an absence of nearly 100 million years.
The first one, and, surely, not the last.
