The Ice Age
The ice age biota is the dominant community of the glacial periods and it's typical of the trample steppe. During glacial periods, this biome becomes the largest of the entire continent, at the expense of the coldvanna. Despite its southern position, the trample steppe is one of the most productive ecosystems ever evolved at high latitudes. The arid and cold conditions favor the creation of gigantic open landscapes, where grazing vertebrates dominate.
