The END
54 million years AP

The late Lentocene was characterized by rising volcanic activity, which primarily occurred in West Antarctica and allowed the expansion of dodoves to Weddell Island.
This constant lava flow has progressively created large igneous provinces, that will be called in the near future Doom Traps.
Volcanism reached its peak about 54 million years, when the three main islands of Antarctica became almost completely covered by ash and lava: local terrestrial life was annihilated and buried by hundreds of meters of basaltic materials, locally reaching one mile of thickness.

Welcome to the E.N.D., the antarctic mass extinction of the Lentocene
