The Thaw
The thaw biota is the predominant community during interglacial periods, characterized by the expansion of the coldvanna. Compared to the trample steppe, temperatures are higher in this region, and the climate tends to be wetter. However, despite these relatively warmer conditions, winter remains extremely cold, often bringing substantial snowfall that impedes extensive grazing. As a result, browsing species primarily dominate this biome, adapting to the warmer yet challenging environment.
