Term 2
Welcome back to everyone. We hope you had a great holiday and are ready for the busy term leading up to Christmas.
This term
This term we will be learning the following:
Literacy - reading, writing, Talking and listening to instructions
Numeracy - money and time tables & division
IDL - Inventors and Inventions (STEM)
CFE - modern language (French) and Scientific inquiry skills
HWB - Substances
Homework will be sent home in Week 3 in the homework jotter. We were very impressed with the homework last term and hope that a jotter helps you at home.
School Meal Payments
School dinners are free for P1-5. Pupils in P6 and 7 need to pay £2.40 for each day. As a small school, we are not eligible for an online/cash free system. Therfere, all payments must be paid in cash each week on a Monday or Friday.. This is standard in a small school and we would be very grateful if you could pay on time to help Sarah keep track of payment.
Late payments will be received in a reminder with the amount due. Any further late payments are handed over to The Highland Council who will send an invoice to you.
School Crossing
As you are all aware, a crossing was put into place last year for children to cross the road safely. We have been fortunate to have a crossing patrol in place to help the children use the crossing safely. The crossing patrol has been phased out over term one and as of now no longer in place. All children crossing the road will now do this using the crossing buttons and walk up to the first school gate to enter the grounds.
We would like to thank Mrs Brannan and Mr Connelly for their efforts in making sure all of the children who walk to school know how to cross sensibly and responsibly.
To make sure all children are safe we would like you to follow the new road rules:
Only P4-7 children are to walk. Cycle, scooter to school without an adult.
P1-3 must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
All children are to be dropped off or picked up at the top gate. Please come to the gate as the car park is busy.
Only P4-7 are to bring bikes and scooters to school. Helmets are to be worn if using a bike or scooter.
P1-3 are not to bring bikes or scooters anymore.
Please drive at 20mph through the village and drive very slowly up the driveway. Children may be walking down to the crossing so we ask you to be vigilant and aware at all times.
If somebody else is picking up your child then please let us know by email or phone.
Children are not to be at school before 8.30 am. Pick up time is 3.15 (if you are late then please call, if you are more than 10 minutes then we will take your child to the school entrance)
We welcome any volunteers to help with the crossing. Please contact the school if you are interested….Thank you
