Term 4, weeks 1 & 2

The Otters have had wonderful fun over the last few weeks looking in great detail at The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle.  

They have played games inside and outside: made maps of his journey; written stories of their own and recounted a week in his life. They have read many of Carle's other books too. Most of all they have created a beautiful classroom display of the caterpillar and his transformation. 

Continents and Cultures 

Fabulous scrapbooks and lots and lots of information and knowledge gathered in our Continents and Cultures project.  Otters you are amazing!!!

Term 3 Week 10

We have had great fun in the sun with PE this week playing team games with a little bit of competition!!

And well done to those who have brought in certificates for Achievement Tuesday!

Term 3  Week 9

Otters have been enjoying all the early spring sun this week with numeracy lessons outside.  We have been learning new games to increase our number knowledge, problem solving skills and cooperation !

Term 3 Weeks 1-3 

A fantastic start to the new term and New Year with the Otters class.  Everyone is ready to learn and have thoroughly enjoyed the mini topic Marvellous Materials. 

PE this term has started worth looking at movement and in particular yoga and balance. 

Term 2  Week 5

What a fun week the Otters have had! It started with a great kodaly session with Rosalind and then fun in the school garden.  The children cleaned up all the beds and planted bulbs for the Spring. It is going to look beautiful. And thank you to all the parents who came to help out!

Later we potted baby spider plants for a special Christmas gift. And all that was only Monday!

Later in the week we have been practising our doubles and halves as well as working hard on our information gathering.  We have found lots of information for our Getting Greener project!

Finally there is a very special reward on Friday for the great attitude to learning and our values- popcorn movie time- (PJs under uniform are optional!!)  

Lots of fun and creativity this week designing and making our own masks and puppets to perform a Sensational Story- Little Red Riding Hood- told our way!

Weeks 1 to 3

We have been getting to know each other starting on this year's learning journey. Making learning fun with our friends has been achieving great results in numeracy and literacy. Well done everyone!
