Lots of fun and laughter at our annual Sports Day at the village green! Well done to all the house groups: Craigellachie, Cairngorm, Ben MacDui and Suidhe! Great to see such excellent teamwork and supportive attitude - well done! Also, massive thank you to Mrs. Douglas for organising and the new S2s for helping!
Mike and Christina from the Scottish Ambulance service came in to school this week to deliver CPR to all the children at Alvie. We all had a great time and learned lots. Have a flick through the image carousel below!
Alvie Primary were showcasing their enthusiasm and charm on MFR's Jodie at Breakfast this week! Well done to Jack C, Donald, and Anabelle from the Stag Class and Leah and MacKenzie from Hedgehogs! You showed great confidence on the radio and were fantastic representatives for the school!

As part of our Green and Global aspiration, we have been planting flowers and bedding plants across the school! The plants have been enjoying the sunshine and the showers that we have had, although the Garden Gang will be on hand to water where needed!
As part of our IDL project, P6/7 wished to find out all about the skeleton. We learned lots of new words and are now able to identify the main parts of the skeleton.
We learned about all the different parts of the spine: cervical, thoracic, lumbar, sarcal and coccyx as well as the limbs.
We had lots of fun using the skeleton and doing some matching of the words!
We rounded off this term with a showcase of our amazing hard work across the school with 'The 20th Century Museum' at Kincraig Village Hall!
We started off at 1900-1919 and ended up at the 1980s and 1990s! There were opportunities to see our whole school projects, our recounts of the 20th Century as well as our homework timelines that we all created!
Big well done to P1-P7 and thank you to everyone who came along to support!
The video of the museum can be accessed here!
P7 had an 3 incredible sessions of Skiing and Snowboarding on Cairngorm! We had great instructors, awesome pistes with fresh snow and the sun came out too!
Lots of great teamwork and supportive chats between everyone. For some of the P7s it was their first time skiing or snowboarding; by the end of the day they were whizzing down the slopes! MASSIVE WELL DONE P7!
We had a fantastic evening at Macdonald Highland Resort in Aviemore where the Badenoch and Strathspey Schools all came together to take part in a general knowledge quiz evening! We had lots of fun and our team did brilliantly - well done!
This week, Emma, from Feis Spe, visited Alvie to tell us all about Feis Spe. She gave us a taster of each of the instruments and explained a little bit about each. We learned about:
The clarsach (harp)
The accordian
Percussion
Guitar
Tin Whistle
We loved listening to Emma play some tunes for us - thank you Emma!
One of our Alvie Aspiration Areas is 'Leadership' and P6 have taken the opportunity to lead on looking after our wonderful School grounds at Alvie. We have been learning all about our Rights whilst engaging in our Rights Respecting Schools Award, but we also have responsibilities. We decided to look at Rights 31 - The Right to Play and also the responsibility to look after our grounds, equipment and all our loose parts. Thank you P6 for taking on this role and supporting the rest of the school to be responsible too!
As part of a whole school project we have been learning about The Rights of the Child. We have been learning about the UNCRC and some of the different articles that make up the convention. We looked at the 4 main principles in our cooperative groups and created information posters about each of them.

We have started back with a BANG in the Stag Class! Primary 7, supported by Primary 6, have designed and delivered a Leadership Week! Each Leadership group (The Garden Gang, The Pupil Council, The House Captains, The Creativity Crew, The Digital Gurus and The Playground Crew) led the whole school on different activities and challenges this week. We have been learning about the attributes of great leaders and applying this knowledge to our activities!
They have shown kindness, supportive and inclusive attitudes as well as excellent organisational skills. Well done P6 and 7.

P6 have been learning about different plants and taking care of our community areas with some wonderful volunteers from Kincraig village.
Thank you for all your hard work in the community.
Whilst P6 were working hard in the village, P7 were learning how to work together to deliver a short, fun PE activity. They worked in pairs and created some interesting stations for circuits, building strength and stamina!
P6/7 have worked hard on re-establishing our values this week. As a class, we decided to create a large display, during Art. We love the way the letters 'pop'! We have been learning how different fonts create different moods and tones!
