Have a look to see what we got up to at Alvie last year.
A huge thank you to Claire Macdonald for painting an incredible mural for our wall. The mural is part of the REGENERATION project and is inspired by the environment we live in. Each year, P7 will paint their own leaf and write their name underneath. Over the years, the trees will grow and our mural will become even more beautiful.
If you have a talent and could help us to develop our grounds then please let us know as it is wonderful that pupils, parents and the community are all involved.
Wow - the P7s all look very smart in their new jumpers.
The pupils are enjoying making their own fun outside using their imagination and the LOOSE PARTS we have been donated. We are still looking for a cable drum, pipes and longer logs.
If you can donate anyting which you feel is suitable then please contact us. Also, if you would like to help build anything then we would really appreciate your help.
Today we said our heartfelt thank yous to Mrs Norton and wish her all the very best with her new adventures.
Our youngest and eldest pupils presented her with a bouquet of flowers and wonderful smiles!
As is our tradition at Alvie the pupils made a Leavers' Tree full of messages from everyone and our House Captains presented her with this and lots of good luck wishes from us all here at Alvie Primary School.
This week we have been collecting our rubbish from snack time. We filled 2 large boxes with crisp packets and sweet wrappers. We are aiming to reduce our waste in school so a letter from our pupils will be coming home soon.
We have been using our skills to investigate, create and evaluate with science, technology, engineering and mathematics this week.
Well done to everyone for their great efforts, collaboration and communication throughout the week!
We raised an impressive
£72.00
for Comic Relief
Many thanks for all your donations!
We've had lots of fun inside and outside and we have been lucky with the better weather to greet us.
It's been lovely to read, work and play with our friends in class again!
It has been fabulous seeing all the smiles again, well done everyone for a great first week back at school.
We have had a fun day with surprises to find for everyone!
Here is a quick look at our festive window in the glass corridor. More window art work will be on display as the week moves on.
Our three P1 Christmas helpers have started of the new tradition of decorating the Christmas tree. They had lots of fun and made a beautiful job of putting the tinsel and baubles on.
Well done P1.
Christmas Dinner Day!
We had fun making our own hats and mats.
Dear Alvie
Thank you and all the Children at Alvie Primary for the best Christmas Cards ever!
The Children have been making them for over 10 years that I recall, we usually hand out the cards at the Senior Christmas Lunch at Loch Insh where they all start talking and showing their cards to other attendees.
However this year we had to cancel and therefore decided to ask all our local businesses to help provide a meal for them all which the CC will pay for, either home delivery OR a visit to the Cafe Gallery, Rowan Tree or the Suie. Many will probably use the Lunch Box Boys who will deliver to their doors between now and the 24th December.
I have been delivering the cards with others around the area and so many have said " This is amazing we didn't think the children would have made us cards this year as the Lunch was cancelled"
So again, Thanks it's very much appreciated.
I hope you have a lovely Christmas and get a well deserved rest!
Merry Christmas
Lesley, Kincraig Community Council
If you wish to send cards then they can be posted in the school letter box in the Glass corridor.
They will be left for 72 hours and then shared out.
Thank you
I hope you agree that our 4 house captains look very smart in their new jumpers.
50 House points
Please could you send in pictures of your child reading in a special, unique or interesting place.
Please send it in to Mrs Norton and she will print it off so it can be displayed in the Learning Den .
Many thanks
This Friday is Children in need.
The pupil council have organised a 'wear pyjamas to school' day. This is optional and by donation.
It might be an idea to send in warmer/waterproof clothes for break time (just in case it is windy or wet).
Many thanks
The Pupil council
Our beautiful Poppy tree was created for remembrance day. We all took part in a 2 minute silence.
Please look at the tree when you pick your child up.
WE raised £62.00 - thank you for your kindness

We hope you all enjoyed the veggies from our School Garden.
Well done to P3-5 and our Outdoor Leaders for a great job harvesting.
Well done to a fantastic group of pupils in P1-5. They have set up their own Eco group and are already taking on clearing up the school and working out how to look after our environment.
We will keep you up to date with all privilege cards under home and news/achievements. This is where we will share good news about all achievements in school and outside of school so please let us know if you have been involved in something which you are proud of.
