What is a Glitch and How to Make Them

Glitches occur in many forms on the game. Some, can pass on to their puppies, others cannot. Glitch coats can be created in the custom tool, while others can only be propagated from existing glitches.

Glitched Coats

Many people on alacrity have dogs who's coat color is called a "glitch" color. This is the only glitch allowed on all breeds in the game, and occurs when a dog's secondary markings are set at an opacity above 100 or below 0. For example, a dog might have the marking "Black Full" at an opacity of -100%. This dog would be a glitch.

Glitch codes are passeable when between the bounds of -128 and 128. These coat opacities can pass on to the dog's puppies, often staying the same color unless markings beneath it or the base coat color change.

A Sleeper Glitch is a dog who appears to be a "natural" coated dog (opacites remain between 0 and 100), however have markings who's opacities lay outside those bounds. They can be bred, even to true natural dogs, and produce colorful glitches.

A smooth glitch, which is most commonly bred, is a glitched dog with little or no static pixels on the body or along the edges of the lineart. Contrarily, a static glitch is a glitch dog who's coat displays static, either on the edges of the lineart, or in the coat itself.

Other Glitches

Other glitches which exist on the game are ghost dogs, peeker corgis, lineless dogs, invisible dogs, "mood" glitches, and lineless.

Huskies are the only breed in which Ghosts, lineless, invisibles, and Mood dogs can be bred. Ghost dogs are dogs with lineart and markings, but no base coat. You can "see through" the dog to their background. Mood dogs are similar, in which the dog lacks a base coat, however the markings on the dog are glitched, so that the dog changes color with the background applied. Lineless dogs are the opposite, they have a base coat and markings, but have no lineart. These can only be produced through breeding existing glitches.

Corgis have a glitch called "peekers," in which the lineart shows as an adult, but the base coat shows as a puppy. These can only be produced through breeding existing glitches.

Lineless and ghost dogs exist in other breeds, however are extremely rare and cannot be produced through breeding or the custom tool
