Catahoula Cur

The Catahoula Cur was the 11th breed to be introduced to Alacrity. 

They range from 22-24 inches tall, 50-95 lbs and have a life expectancy of 10-14 years.

The Catahoula Cur is the only breed to come from Louisiana.  It is the state dog also. They are known for there wide range of coat colors and patterns. 

Catahoula Cur's name was changed to Catahoula Leopard Dog in 1979.

They must be socialized at a young age because of their high prey drive, intelligence and energy. Most Catahoula Curs need a job or they can become destructive. As with any dog breed training and socialization is very important.
