The City's ADU BONUS program - That started this all
City of San Diego Building Programs OR- Cramming and jamming and stacking and packing housing closer together and onto smaller lots contrary to safe fire practices
1. ADU Bonus program - Developers are being allowed to build 10, 12 even 18 ADU's in one back yard and down into canyons on cul-de-sacs with no parking. It was amended to cap them at 6 ADU's on August 22m 2025 HOWEVER hundreds were permitted prior and our City is letting all those to still go in.
2. Complete Communities - Where "housing towers" will be placed within a single family home residential neighborhood if within 1/2 mile (as the crow flys, not actual walking path which would be longer) of a bus or trolley stop or "possible future bus stop" that may NEVER go in.
3. Homes For All Of Us - Mayor Todd Gloria's program to cram townhouses or row houses on to tiny lots less than 1/4 of the minimum space currently required to build a home
