Term One Week 5 - Evidence of Flow

Google Form which measures elements of Flow.

I have observed students playing Prime Climb and sometimes they keep playing after the bell has gone in order to find the winner. They are very animated and enthusiastic. The results below indicate some students are experiencing group mathematical flow whilst playing Prime Climb. My next step is to support the students who have not yet experienced this joy.

27th February: Two year 10 classes requested to play Prime Climb today rather than tomorrow. They were so exicted and enthusiatic I wondered if they were playing some kind of a joke on me. First we played fraction snap (Prime Climb Style) then played Prime Climb. The winners in each group played each other and all students were encouraged to play with different members of the class. I saw some students smiling and interacting with others in a way I had not observed them interact before. I listened to students articulating their thinking and giving each other help to opimize their moves. I hope I can get them to work in their learning workbooks tomorrow. ;-)

Student Voice Comments:

Most students LOVE Prime Climb and understand how it helps them learn in a fun way.
