Brian Holmes is the Director of Mediation and Ombudsman Services for the Tennessee Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. In this role, he directs policy and leads 23 mediators and 5 ombudsmen as they educate the public about workers’ compensation and resolve disputes. He has had the privilege to help thousands of injured workers’, their employers, and insurance companies make informed decisions while resolving their workers’ compensation benefit disputes since 2004. Having recently led to the drive to significant improvements in mediation settlement rates, he is currently focused on implementing a new program to assist unemployed workers’ compensation claimants return to the workforce.
Brian is a graduate of Volunteer State Community College, and two time graduate of Middle Tennessee State University where he earned a Master’s of Arts degree in Economics and Industrial Relations. He is also a graduate of the Tennessee Government Executive Institute at the University of Tennessee’s Naifeh Center for Effective Leadership.
He resides in Murfreesboro, TN. His hobbies include college football, completing his wife’s extensive honey-do lists, and spending time wrapped around the little finger of his 4 year old daughter.
