Warring Winds

Though they may be brothers capable of commanding the winds, the trio known as the Northern Wind, Western Wind, and Eastern Wind bicker over how to control their elements. Climb aboard a cloud and soar along the windy war waged between them, but watch out for crosswinds.

Ride Exterior/Queue

Among the landscape of Buyan, guests may notice some trees that seem to be bending at odd angles. They rest near a trio of statues, depicting three identical men who seem to glare out at each other with dramatic poses. They are the Northern Wind, the Western Wind, and the Eastern Wind, with each statue atop a pillar that's positioned to form a triangle. The effect almost looks like a three-way standoff. At the center of this triangle is a stone circle upon which sits a tornado, with clouds all around.

The queue starts through a gate formed from two trees bent by the wind, as guests wind their way through a path of shrubs and railings. Eventually, guests reach the end of the path outside of the stone circle.

Ride Experience

When ready, we head over to one of the ride vehicles which are clouds around this tornado. Once we are securely fastened, the ride starts. We soar in a circle around the tornado, using a lever in our cloud to raise it up or down. As we ride, we can hear the Three Winds bicker with one another, occasionally mentioning things like a “high current” or “low breeze”. Those are little hints to lower or raise our clouds. If we don’t, we’ll feel a surprise burst of air from an air jet situated in the ride’s center. Eventually, the brothers stop their fighting for the moment, as our clouds lower back down and we safely disembark from our clouds.
