Frigid Frontier Express

A large experience in Skagway, Alaska is the White Pass Summit Excursion, a train ride through the wilderness learning about the area's environment on the way to the Yukon.

This experience is replicated in the Frigid Frontier Express.

Guests enter into the area to find an open area train station. Inside the station are benches and and newspapers about the history of the area.

Aboard the train, guests can hear the conductor through overhead speakers welcoming them aboard and going through a quick safety spiel.

With that, the train takes off out of the station (going clockwise).

As the train leaves the station, they can see main river out of the land, the main pathway through the land, as well as the queue for Klondike River Expedition.

Much like Knott's Berry Farm's railroad, when crossing the main paths, the workers pull out a retractable fence in order to block off the tracks from guests crossing while the train is.

After a little bit of travel, the more "busy" areas of the small town fade away to into the middle of the Alaskan frontier.

As guests travel further along, the trees subside and get replaced with the mountainous area of the Klondike River Expedition. The train joins them by going through the mountain, instead of going around. Entering the mountain, it is very recognizable as a gold mine (like the one on the left). Miners can be heard mining ahead with only natural light from the entrance and a few lit lanterns lighting the way along.

As the train travels further along, the mining area opens up further to see Animatronic Miners working hard mining away. A few can be heard whistling or humming as they mine away.

As the train exits the mine, it loops back into the wilderness briefly before overlooking the AK Corral, and Moose Hill Cabin. From approaching the area from behind, it offers guests a whole new perspective of the corral with the back of the buildings having posters exclusively seen from the train. This also offers a way for guests to wave at patrons of Moose Hill Cabin.
