Outdoor Education: Sailing

The Grade The Grade 3 sailing program is designed to introduce young sailors to the fundamentals of sailing in a fun, engaging, and educational environment. The program combines practical sailing skills with important safety lessons. Participants learn the basics of boat handling, including how to steer, control sails, and understand wind direction. The program uses small, manageable boats, such as Optimists or O'pen Skiffs, which are ideal for beginners due to their stability and simplicity. Through a mix of on-the-water practice and land based instruction, children gain confidence and develop a solid foundation in sailing. In addition to technical skills, the Grade 3 sailing program emphasizes teamwork, communication, and respect for the marine environment. Young sailors are encouraged to work together, helping each other with rigging boats and learning to navigate.

Grade 3 Camp

The Jungle Camp at Khao Sok National Park offers Grade 3 students a unique and immersive outdoor experience, combining education, adventure, and environmental stewardship. Located in Khao Sok which is renowned for its dense rainforests and diverse wildlife. The camp uses this stunning natural backdrop to provide a variety of hands-on activities that engage young minds and bodies. Students participate in guided jungle treks, where they learn about local flora and fauna, the importance of biodiversity. In addition the night safaris offer a thrilling opportunity to see nocturnal animals in their natural habitat, while team-building exercises and survival skills workshops help students develop resilience, cooperation, and problem-solving abilities. Grade 3 students build lasting memories and a foundation of knowledge that inspires a lifelong appreciation for the environment.
