As per State WX Guidelines, all agency field staff will be OSHA Construction Industry 10 Hour certified within 30 days of their hire date. Also, the agency shall have at least 1 person with OSHA Construction Industry 30 Hour.
Job Site safety briefing should be held with crews.
All field crews must follow OSHA safety standards at all times.
Supervisors shall never force an employee to perform a task that breaks OSHA regulations or places the person in a dangerous situation.
Before the work begins for the day, inform the client of what you will be doing and if you will be using any materials that will contain any VOC's or create dust. This client make a decision to leave the home while the measures are being installed for their safety.
While using any materials that contain VOC's or require monitoring of LEL% (Lower Explosive Limit) , use positive pressure ventilation and open a window in the rooms you will be working in. This way the toxins will be exhausted out the window rather than pulled through the entire home.
Remove all material wrappers, material scraps, and packaging from the site.
Sweep up all visible dust and debris and remove from site
Vacuum all dust and debris from clients carpet
No tagging, branding or writing your name on your work.
The only thing left behind is the specified materials to be installed.
The quality of your work should meet the standard established in this guide, and in the SWS.
It should be to a consistent high standard on every home you work on.
All work should be of a quality to meet the measure life
Prime or paint any exposed wood that was installed as part of weatherization work.
Foam cannot be left exposed to the sun's UV rays or weather elements.
Foam needs to be trimmed back and have a weather proof covering placed over it.
Fiberglass installed in an occupiable space shall be covered with a durable material.
Raw fiberglass should not be exposed to the condition space.
Use caution and respect while dealing with the clients belonging and working around them.
If you do have to move things inform the client first.
Ensure you put everything back the way you found it.
Avoid placing yourself or other co-workers in a harmful or toxic environment.
Avoid homes where drugs are found, verbal or physical threats are made, unsanitary conditions, aggressive pets, etc.

If any of the clients belonging are broken, inform the client immediately.
Contact your supervisor next.
Document on the work order the who, what, wh, & how of the damage.
Supervisor or agency management will advise on further actions to repair or replace the item.
Agency personnel should not be in clients home unless client or their designated representative is there.
This person must be an adult.
It is never acceptable for a crew to be in a home when only minor children are present.
If you come encounter a disgruntled client who becomes argumentative or disagrees with what is happening, try to keep both yourself and them calm.
Listen to what they have to say and attempt to address their concerns.
If you are not able to resolve the issue then contact your supervisor.
if need be halt work or depart the job site as needed to prevent the situation from escalating.
At no time can Weatherization materials be installed by a client or left with a client uninstalled.
Any leftover materials must be gathered, removed from the job site and returned to the agency to be dealt with according to agency policy.
