On October 4, 2025, the University Research Center successfully conducted a Research Writeshop at the EN Building, Room 204. The event gathered enthusiastic participants from various departments, including both teaching and non-teaching personnel. The session was specifically designed to provide dedicated support for developing the crucial introduction and methodology chapters of their academic papers.
The program commenced with opening ceremonies and remarks that set a productive and collaborative tone for the day. The workshop was expertly facilitated by Prof. Maria Marietta Basbas, whose guidance was instrumental in ensuring the event's success. Her expertise provided a strong foundation for the day's activities, engaging the diverse group of attendees.
The first segment featured an insightful lecture on the Review of Introduction. Prof. Basbas detailed the key components of a strong introduction, including establishing a research gap and stating clear objectives. This theoretical foundation was immediately put into practice during an extended writing session, allowing participants from different disciplines to apply these concepts directly to their own work.
Following the lunch break, Prof. Basbas delivered her second talk, a Review of Methodology. This session provided invaluable guidance on research design, data collection, and analysis procedures. Her practical advice empowered the researchers to structure their methodologies with greater rigor and clarity, addressing a common challenge in academic writing.
The afternoon was dedicated to a final, intensive writing session and consultation period. This hands-on approach was a cornerstone of the workshop, enabling participants to refine their drafts with the expert feedback of Prof. Basbas. The collaborative environment fostered significant progress on individual research projects across various fields of study.
The writeshop concluded with the awarding of a certificate of appreciation to Prof. Basbas, recognizing her valuable contribution. This event underscored the University Research Center's commitment to fostering a supportive and productive research culture for all university personnel. It was a productive day of learning and collaboration, equipping participants with the tools to build a stronger foundation for their research endeavors.
