REQUESTING POLICE / EMERGENCY SERVICES ASSITANCE
MIDB employees must request emergency services (Police, Fire, and EMS) by calling 9-1-1. As soon as possible after requesting emergency services, employees must notify and update the MIDB Front Desk at 612-626-6440. Follow Unit policy for notifying your supervisor or manager.
Basic Actions
Contact the main MIDB Front Desk 612-626-6440 if you believe a MIDB guest is missing
Follow any assigned Missing Person procedure role
Responder Actions
Activate “Missing-Person-Alert”
If any staff member has reason to believe that a patient or guest has gone missing at the MIDB, contact the main MIDB Front Desk 612-626-6440. The Front Desk will initiate a Missing Person page,
“Attention--MIDB: There is a Missing person. The (Child, Tean, or Adult) is described as __________(Name, Ethnicity/Complexion, Clothing head-to-toe) and was last seen in _______________ (provide specific location-example-MIDB Clinic, RM 17)”. Please follow all appropriate procedures.”

Responding to “Missing-Person-Alert”
MIDB Staff assigned roles according to the Appendix IV: Missing Child - Door Coverage Personnel Plan will report to their designated locations
All other units who hear the announcement should coordinate within their Unit to search all public areas in your vicinity, including restrooms, conference, collaborate, and connect rooms, kitchenettes, stairwells, and elevators
Security Personnel will search the stairwells, restrooms, parking ramp, and building exterior
Call 9-1-1 if you have reason to believe that a crime has been committed. Observe and report any suspicious activity to the MIDB Welcome Desk (612-626-6440). Be aware of items that can hide an infant, such as a suitcase, duffle bag, bulky coat, tote bag, box, blankets, etc.
Additional After Action Steps
Follow Actions to Take After an Emergency AND,
Do not return to your workstation or office if part or the response team until receiving the all clear.
A public address announcement will then be made that states:
“Attention MIDB: Missing person found -- All Clear You may resume normal activities” or “Missing Person Situation Canceled, You may resume normal activities.”
