MEDICAL ACCIDENT OR INCIDENTS
MIDB employees must request emergency services (Police, Fire, and EMS) by calling 9-1-1. As soon as possible after requesting emergency services, employees must notify and update the MIDB Front Desk at 612-626-6440. Follow Unit policy for notifying your supervisor or manager.
Basic Actions
Anyone capable of providing care should respond
Ensure the scene is safe
Contact 9-1-1, request Emergency Medical Services as needed
Receive consent to provide care from the subject
Provide care within the scope of your certified training
Use AED immediately for Cardiac Emergencies
Responder Actions
Medical Professionals capable of providing care should report to any overhead request
Ensure the scene is safe,
Contact 9-1-1, request EMS and FIRE for assistance as needed,
Receive consent to provide
care from the subject, Provide care within the scope of your certified training,
Stay with the subject until a responder with higher training arrives,
Assist emergency responders with crowd-control, if necessary.
Update the MIDB Front Desk at 612-626-6440 as the situation allows
Automated External Defibrillators
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are for use when a person is having a cardiac event. AEDs are designed to be used by anyone, as the machine will guide users through the process of activating the unit. AEDs are located in the following areas:
1st Floor of Main Building - Between Market and Elevator
1st Floor of Annex - Open Office Area / Lounge facing E. River Parkway (1-506)

Follow Actions to Take After an Emergency AND,
Dispose of any contaminated materials in accordance with AHA HeartSaver training.
