Prep checklist:
If the number of pages to be scanned is more than 50 pages, ask a staff member
AFN: Scan barcode into "Fulfillment" > "Deliver Digital Documents" to ensure it can be delivered
Tipasa: Check the request expiration date before scanning, ensure it is in the future
Color modes:
Greyscale use this when scanning text
Color use this when scanning colored images
Processing methods:
[Flat Single Page] use this when scanning the pull slip (produces single image
[Facing Pages] use this when scanning books with a spine (produces two images, one for each page). Always hold the pages down using the yellow page holders as CZUR will automatically replace the line/dot pattern with blank space.
[Manual Selection] if CZUR is struggling to take a picture of the correct area, try this
Scanning a page:
Scan button use the mouse to click the black button on the bottom right of the window
Foot pedal there is a foot pedal under the desk, clicking this will start a scan
Auto scan check the "auto scan" box. Once you click the scan button, CZUR will initiate a scan every time movement stops. As an example, flipping a page and holding still will start a scan. Click the scan button again to stop auto scanning.
File manipulation -- When on the main CZUR screen (not Scan) each scanned page is listed on the right with a name like: image00001.jpg. The buttons that appear after clicking on an image will help you add, delete, and replace images.
Del deletes the selected image
Rep scan a new page to replace the selected one (both pages of a [facing pages] scan will be replaced)
Ins scan a new page that will be placed before the selected page
Add scan a new page that will be placed after the selected page

Always scan starting with the oldest requests first
Open "CZUR Scanner" application
If the file list on the right side of the screen is not empty, select all files and delete using the trashcan icon on the top right of the page
Flip the switch on the back left of the scanner
If the scanner lights turn on, it worked
Click "Scan" in the bottom right corner
Scan the pull slip
Scan all required pages using the appropriate settings (see Scanner settings & when to use them above)
If CZUR makes a bad scan, it is usually easier to ignore it and keep scanning. The bad scan can be fixed later using the Rep button
Use the back button to review your scans, making sure:
All of the requested pages are accounted for
No images are blurry
All images are cropped the same
No important text is cut off
If any changes need to be made, use Del, Rep, Ins, and Add to fix the problem
The button with a check on the top left of the file manipulation area will select all files
Select all files and click the Searchable PDF button under the Export section on the left
Make sure the language selected matches the language used in the book you're scanning & click Confirm
Scan the pull slip's barcode once the save dialogue box opens
Once the file has successfully saved, follow the directions below to deliver the request
CZUR often takes a while to save files. If you don't see your scan right away, wait a few minutes and look for it again
Once the file has been delivered, select all files and delete using the trashcan icon on the top right of the page
Open Alma and log in
Navigate to "Fulfillment" > "Deliver Digital Document"
Scan request barcode
Attach scanned PDF
Select "Done" to Send
In Tipasa, Scan the request ID
Click "OCLC Article Exchange" link and upload scan
Click Drop (might take a bit to load)
Save
