Broken ISO Borrowing Returns (VDX)
The goal of this task is to return books our patrons are done using to the libraries that supplied them.

Confirm that the book was affected by the August 25th incident
Look for a Private note in the Private notes section that starts with: BROKEN ISO
If there is no private note, start a book pile to review with ILL staff
Carefully disassemble Bookstrap
Confirm that the title on our Bookstrap matches the lender's paperwork
Put lender's paperwork back in book
Make sure the book is in reasonably good condition
Bad condition: wet/moisture damage, so much writing inside that it’s distracting, cover or pages coming off/out
If item is in bad condition, give to a staff member
2. Scan the item’s ILL barcode to bring up the VDX record
Copy the OCLC number and locate the record in WorldShare by pasting it into the "Request ID" field (shown below)
3. Click the "Edit ISO" button
You will be taken back to the OCLC home screen
Find the request again by clicking the hyperlinked OCLC number in the green box (or search the OCLC number again)
4. Click the "Return item" button
The returned date should be today's date
Make sure to NOT press the "Renew Item" button
Action "Returned" from the drop down menu in VDX
Select "Courier" for Returned via
Add a PRIVATE NOTE describing what is being returned (if not a single book)
Ex: "Returning volumes 1-2"
Ex: "Returning 1 DVD & 1 booklet"
Ex: "Returning 2 DVDs in case"
Separate items for shipping
Books from UCs go on their respective shelf
Books from CSUs go on their respective shelf
All other books go on the FedEx table
Put Bookstraps into the shred bin
