Item notes are mostly added to records at the time of shipping, whether this be shipping items out to other libraries or receiving items sent by other libraries. You may need to add a note if an item arrives damaged, is damaged by one of our patrons, or the item requires clarification like microfilm, LUO, or volume sets.
Requests we can make notes on:
AFN requests we are lending
Tipasa requests we are lending
Tipasa requests we are borrowing
Requests we cannot make notes on:
AFN requests we are borrowing
You should still ask a staff member before sending out or receiving a damaged book.
In the top Alma search bar, select "Physical items" > "Barcode"
Scan the item's barcode
Click "Edit item" and navigate to the Notes tab
In the "Fulfillment note" field, write your note
This note will appear as a message on screen anytime anyone scans this item in Alma
Click "Save"
Click "Note" and add your text
