OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN I (3 UNITS—PREFERENCE IN SCHEDULING TO JR. & SR.)
OUTDOOR POWER EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN II (3 UNITS—PREFERENCE IN SCHEDULING TO JR. & SR.) (3 UNIT Prerequisite Outdoor Power Equipment Technician I)
Students learn the basics of small engine mechanics such as parts of the engine, operation, disassembly and assembly of an engine. They learn the following basic skills in these classes: work in a shop environment safely, proper use of a welding machine and torch, disassembly of 2- and 4-cycle engines, repair outboard powerheads and lower units, installation of outboard engines, install engines and drive trains in mud boats, repair small tractors and riding mowers, air compressor repair; and repair weed eaters and other similar equipment.
Students will receive IBC’s in Safety Prevention and Pollution. Students can also earn certificate in Boater Safety.
