This course is a culminating course designed to integrate the knowledge and skills learned in word processing with the concepts, procedures, and applications of desktop publishing. Emphasis is placed on continued skill development in efficient operation of word processing programs as it is applied to desktop publishing. Critical thinking and communication skills are reinforced in this course as student’s format, create, and proofread brochures, programs, newsletters, web pages, powerpoint presentations, and manuscripts. Topics covered include fonts, typefaces, text, style, alignment, graphics, special effects, page design, scanning, proofing, color and the use of a digital camera.
