Make sure you have fresh batteries in your IR Gun. Low batteries can contribute to an inaccurate reading
Double-check what your emissivity is set to, you will find that your IR Gun is suitable for most surfaces. at a .95 emissivity
Clean the lens of your IR Gun:
Dip a Q-Tip or cotton swab in medical alcohol (never use soap or chemicals).
Carefully wipe the lens first and then the body of the thermometer.
Allow the lens to dry fully before using the thermometer.
Never submerge any part of the thermometer in water.
Allow your device to acclimate to the environment it is in. We suggest the practice of placing the IR unit in the cooled space at least 20 minutes prior to taking readings.
