Life on Mars

Artist Statement

Life on Mars is a world of imagination, this piece includes components that can happen and can not happen in real life. Things that we humans would imagine when living on Mars, for example, eating chips on Mars and sleep in a boat! We would always study Earth, the place where we used to live.

In the piece of art, I used an HB pencil, eraser, and paper-pencil. I drew this on a mixed media paper. Also, you got to have a mind that's full of imaginary components!

I began the art starting with a quarter of a circle on the bottom right corner of the paper, claims it to be Mars. Then I added the astronaut on to the paper, looking through a telescope. Then I reshape the circle because Mars' surface is not flat, there are bumps and parts that hollow. On Mars, I have a pole attached to the ground, there is a bottle of water and a bag of chips attached to the pole. Who doesn't want to enjoy chips on Mars! Another object that is attached to the pole is a "boat", sleeping in a boat, and travel in the space with a boat can be the best thing ever. Far away is Earth and its moon. A rocket taking off. Closer are some rocks that are just flying around the earth. Even though, we live on Mars; we still care and miss about home at Earth.
