research project

the first artist i chose was Dylan Beck, an artist and educator from Portland Oregon who's designs are inspired by nature and landscapes from both the present and his interpretation of the "supermodern world." his art really stuck out to me as it incorporated both cool and interesting designs with vibrant colors and color coordination. he has served as a professor and department head at Oregon college of art and craft and Kansas state university. he has been invited to several national and international art exhibitions including various exhibits in South Korea, France, and America. his works are included in several public and private collections including the Everson museum of art and Hilton Curio collection. he really likes to include geographical features with mute colors which are often accompanied with dripping or melting aspects including various combinations of vibrant colors to create a greater contrast and make the colors pop out more.

the second artist i chose was Diane Arrieta, an artist from oil city Pennsylvania who incorporates real life objects into her sculptures to create her designs. she has a BFA in ceramic sculpture and an advanced degree in wildlife health, which is reflected in her works as it focuses on biodiversity loss and the affects humans have on the health and population decline of all species. her work has been shown widely at a variety of exhibits across the US and UK. her work really stood out to me as it looks nothing like any of the other ceramic artists i've seen. her use of vibrant colors and real life objects really attracts attention, with some sculptures not even looking like they were made out of clay at all.

My artists final products look extremely different from each other, however they both share a common theme that is nature. Dylan tends to focus more on the geographic aspect of nature, while Diane focuses more on the animal side. they both have very unique approaches to their art, but the also execute it very flawlessly. i was drawn to these artists for a reason, not only because of their uniqueness, but from their appearance and execution, which are amazing.
