intro to slab pots

i started out this project my creating a slab, which i did my feeding a piece of clay into a flattener. i cut out a base, the walls of my pot, and clay for a handle and then used a small knife to create a design around the base of my pot wall. i used a plastic tennis ball holder to create support and help shape my pot as i attached the pieces together, and then i shaped my handle and left both out for a bit while they dried. once my handle and pot held their shape i attached them as well and fired my pot. i finished my pot by glazing it and then fired it. it was my first time using the slab technique and i encountered some problems. i accidentally used the wrong side of the tennis ball holder which caused the wall to be misshapen, which i then had to adjust to make it look right. i also forgot to cut out the base at first, so i had to attach the base after which was pretty inconvenient but didn't provide much of a struggle. but in the end, i think the pot looks pretty good especially with my inexperience with the technique and the challenges i faced while making the pot. the design was pretty simple but i like it and i think the glaze color came out well.
