ceramics I

both my favorite pot and the one I am the most proud of is definitely my history coil pot. i just love the look of it, i think it came out very well, and i just dedicated so much time to it that other projects i didn't have the time to dedicate to just don't come close to it for that reason. thats also party why i'm super proud of it, i spent so much time on it and payed lots of attention to detail, and the product replicated the effort. this project really does show that hard work pays off, as i had to come in for multiple study halls to finish glazing it. i think i already knew this but it did show that i am somewhat of a perfectionist as i made sure that is was done well, and i am still a bit unhappy with the shape of it as it is a bit misshapen.

i think this class had both made ceramics seem easier than i thought before in terms of bigger projects, as now i know methods for how things can be made easier, but it also gave me extra respect for the people who choose it as their career, as even though there are methods, it is still hard to do it well and with as much detail and precision as they do it with, and relating to what i said before, how much time it can take.

honestly the only thing i would change about the class is a list or something accessible of when projects officially start/end so that it's easier to pace yourself. i really enjoyed the freedom/flexibility of the class though in how it was a class where you can just have fun making clay pots and chilling with your friends and i hope that never changes.
